Philip Thierman is responsible for credit underwriting loans originated by WBC’s Latin America Lending Team, with a focus on loans to financial institutions located throughout the region including banks, credit unions, financial cooperatives, leasecos, fincos, and microlenders. In addition, Mr. Thierman underwrites loans to Mexican operations of U.S. and European-owned operating companies in a wide variety of sectors. He has 18 years of experience in various aspects of commercial lending and credit risk management, most recently at Webster Bank. Mr. Thierman is fluent in Spanish and has a passion for supporting economic and business development, as well as improvements in the quality of life for individuals and families, throughout the Americas. He has his undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut and an MBA in Finance from Sacred Heart University.
