Commercial Loan Officer - North American Middle Market
WorldBusiness Capital, Inc. (WBC) is seeking a dynamic, results-driven Commercial Loan Officer to join our growing Commercial Lending Team. The Commercial Loan Officer will identify and close long-term loans to middle market companies in the United States and Mexico that are expanding to take advantage of growth, supply chain, near-shoring, and international trade agreement opportunities.
Target borrowers include businesses and projects in the following sectors: manufacturing, distribution, logistics, transportation, food processing, packaging, consumer products, renewables, and financial intermediaries.

WBC is based in Hartford, Connecticut and offers a hybrid in-office/remote work environment. The position reports to WBC’s Chief Lending Officer.
Position offers top-of-the-market base compensation and benefits, a cash bonus program tied to accepted loan proposals and timely loan closings, and opportunities for professional advancement. Initial title to be determined based on experience.
Core Responsibilities
- Identify commercial loan opportunities up to $20 million through multiple channels for:
- New facilities, equipment, and permanent working capital.
- Ownership buyouts, recapitalizations, and debt refinancing.
- Acquisitions, joint ventures, and expansion projects.
- Develop loan proposals and negotiate terms and conditions with prospective borrowers.
- Prepare applications and interact with government agencies providing loan guarantees.
- Collaborate with WBC Credit Team on loan underwriting.
- Coordinate with colleagues, borrowers, and legal counsel on documentation and closing processes.
Qualifications
- 5 - 10 years of commercial loan business development, deal structuring, and credit underwriting experience with a recognized institution.
- BA/BS required; MBA and completion of formal credit training program preferred.
- Proven track record of successful loan origination and underwriting in a wide variety of sectors.
- Proven expertise in financial statement analysis, modeling, and projections.
- Experience with government loan programs, trade finance, and foreign lending are a plus.
- Proficiency in business Spanish and willingness to upgrade language skills are a plus.

- Strong understanding of credit risk assessment and portfolio management principles.
- Strong professional writing and verbal communication skills.
- High comfort level making presentations to build loan pipeline.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
