Commercial Loan Officer - U.S. Middle Market

WorldBusiness Capital, Inc. (WBC) is seeking a dynamic, results-driven Commercial Loan Officer to join a team developing long-term loan opportunities with middle market businesses located throughout the United States in the following sectors: manufacturing, distribution, logistics, transportation, packaging, food processing, consumer products, renewables, and infrastructure. 


Target borrowers include:


(i)   U.S.-owned companies.


(ii)  U.S. affiliates of foreign companies. 


WBC is a commercial finance company and direct lender staffed by professionals with many years of experience in corporate, trade, and project finance. Our company has a proven track record of successfully closed loans in the United States and select markets around the world. WBC is licensed and regulated by the Connecticut Department of Banking.   


WBC is based in Hartford, Connecticut and provides hybrid remote work options following in-house training. The position reports to WBC’s Chief Lending Officer for the United States.


Position offers top-of-the-market base compensation and benefits, a bonus program tied to accepted loan proposals and timely loan closings, and opportunities for professional advancement. Initial title to be determined based on experience.           



Core Responsibilities


  • Identify commercial loan opportunities up to $15 million through multiple channels for:


  • U.S. business expansions - new facilities, equipment, and permanent working capital.


  • U.S. business turnarounds - recapitalization, debt refinancing, and growth.


  • Foreign investments in the U.S. - acquisitions, joint ventures, and expansion projects. 


  • Develop loan proposals and negotiate terms and conditions with prospective borrowers.

 

  • Prepare applications and interact with government agencies providing loan guarantees.     


  • Collaborate with WBC Credit Team in underwriting, documentation, and closing processes.



Qualifications


  • 5+ years commercial loan business development experience with a recognized institution.   


  • Working knowledge of government loan programs: USDA, SBA.


  • BA/BS required; MBA and completion of formal credit training program preferred.


  • Proven track record of successful loan negotiations and closings.


  • Proven expertise in financial statement analysis, modeling, and projections.

  • Strong professional writing and verbal communication skills.


  • High comfort level making presentations to build loan pipeline.   


  • Commitment to teamwork and achievement of goals.


  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
