Compliance Analyst - Specialist in BSA/AML

WorldBusiness Capital, Inc. (WBC) is seeking an experienced, results-driven compliance analyst specializing in BSA/AML to join WBC’s Audit and Compliance Team. The analyst will be responsible for diligence on loans to U.S. middle market companies and Latin American financial institutions to ensure compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti Money Laundering (AML), USA Patriot Act, and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) programs.

Our company has a proven track record of successfully closed loans in the United States, Latin America, and other select markets around the world. WBC is licensed and regulated by the Connecticut Department of Banking.


WBC is based in Hartford, Connecticut and provides hybrid remote work options following in-house training. The position reports to the Senior Vice President - Audit and Compliance.


Position offers top-of-the-market compensation and benefits, participation in an annual bonus program, and opportunities for professional advancement. Initial title to be determined based on experience.


Core Responsibilities


• Perform Know-Your-Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) reviews on prospective and new borrowers and related entities, and annual and ongoing monitoring due diligence reviews of existing borrowers in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and WBC’s policies and procedures. 


• Maintain supporting documentation, records, and research in accordance with WBC’s standards and regulatory requirements.


• Identify and conclude on initial and on-going relevant news alert findings with supporting documentation as part of KYC review.


• Perform External Due Diligence (EDD) when appropriate by gathering information from outside sources such as internet searches, third party vendors, and public records.


• Develop and maintain comprehensive understanding of products, services, and transaction processing functions within WBC.


• Collaborate effectively with colleagues in other departments, including Loan Operations, Portfolio Management, and U.S. and Latin America Lending Teams.


• Work independently and manage multiple tasks while maintaining high quality and accuracy.


• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external stakeholders.


Qualifications


• 3+ years experience in Audit and Compliance.


• BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.


• Proven expertise in financial institution policies, procedures, and practices with a specific focus in BSA/AML and OFAC regulations. 


Skills


• Proficient with CDD and EDD procedures.


• Familiarity with U.S. and international corporate structures.


• Strong time management, analytical, and investigative skills.


• Ability to maintain confidentiality of files and privileged information.


• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Lexis/Nexis software (or other due diligence software).


• Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.


• Bi-lingual fluency in English/Spanish preferred.
