Commercial Credit Analyst - Latin America/Caribbean

WorldBusiness Capital, Inc. (WBC) is seeking a dynamic, results-driven Commercial Credit Analyst to join a team underwriting long-term loans to financial institutions and agri-food businesses located throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.

Target borrowers include:

(i)  Financial institutions - mid-tier banks, credit unions, co-ops, finance and leasing companies, microlenders.

(ii)  Agri-food businesses - processing, storage, transportation, distribution, port infrastructure.

WBC is a commercial finance company and direct lender staffed by professionals with many years of experience in corporate, trade, and project finance. Our company has a proven track record of successfully closed loans in Latin America and select markets around the world. WBC is licensed and regulated by the Connecticut Department of Banking.

WBC is based in Hartford, Connecticut and provides hybrid remote work options following in-house training. The position reports to WBC’s Chief Credit Officer.

Position offers top-of-the-market compensation and benefits, participation in a quarterly bonus program, and opportunities for professional advancement. Initial title to be determined based on experience.   

Core Responsibilities

• Underwrite commercial loans up to $15 million covered by government program guarantees.

• Prepare detailed financial analysis of prospective borrowers to assess historical and projected performance, and related credit, market, industry, and compliance risks.

• Support Latin America Lending Team in structuring and documenting loans.    

Qualifications

• 5+ years commercial credit underwriting experience with a recognized institution.   

• Working knowledge of government and multilateral agency loan programs: DFC/OPIC, IDB, NADBank.

• Minimum BA/BS required; MBA and completion of formal credit training program preferred.

• Proven expertise in financial statement analysis, modeling, and projections.

Skills

• Strong professional writing and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.

• Self-motivated to take ownership of tasks and deadlines.   

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
